The Apeks MTX-R Sidemount Regulator Kit assembly is a super-tough, robust, high-performance sidemount regulator configuration, designed to meet the rigors of cold water and extreme sidemount diving. The Apeks MTX-R Sidemount Regulator Kit is highly reliable and also very easy to service in the field, making it an ideal option for expedition and exploration divers.
The Apeks MTX-R Sidemount Regulator Kit delivers excellent cold water performance and has a very low risk of free flow. This has been achieved by improving several areas, including an innovative end cap and ambient diaphragm, a forged 1st stage body that offers maximum thermal preference, a corrugated diaphragm clamp, and a redesigned and enlarged heat exchanger in the 2nd stage with metal incorporated into the front cover design.
First stage
- Available in DIN and YOKE versions
- Suitable for use in cold water (below 10°C / 50°F)
- Unique over-balanced diaphragm design – as the diver descends, the over-balancing feature allows the medium pressure gas in the MP hose to increase at a faster rate than the ambient pressure. This results in improved performance at depth.
- Innovative overmolded end cap and ambient diaphragm, a forged first stage body offering maximum thermal performance.
- 5 x 3/8" UNF (Unified National Fine) medium pressure ports.
- 2 x 7/16" UNF (Unified National Fine) high pressure ports. The 5th 3/8" UNF medium pressure port includes a protective bumper when not in use.
- Ribbed forged first stage body for heat exchange, for maximum thermal performance.
- Angled HP port for optimal routing of the hose and transmitters.
- Forged rotating turret with medium pressure ports in a parallel direction for better hose orientation.
- Ribbed diaphragm support for improved heat exchange in cold water.
- Double-swivel hose for greater freedom of movement and comfort.
- Certified for use with an octopus, EN250A up to 60 meters in cold water.
- Nitrox/Oxygen compatible: up to 40% O2 outside the EU (European Union). Within the EU, whenever the O2 level exceeds 21%, an M26 connection must be used.
Second stage
- High-performance pneumatically balanced seat valve.
- Large, easy-to-use purge button. The oversized rubber front cover incorporates a chrome-plated brass plate that improves second stage durability.
- Oversized rubber side and top guards to protect the second stage from impacts and scratches in the most vulnerable areas.
- Reversible second stage for a left or right gas supply configuration.
- Thermal exchanger (patented) surrounding the valve mechanism to eliminate the cold caused by gas expansion while bringing in the warmth of the surrounding water.
- Features an innovative variable exhaust system (DCE). The system allows the diver to switch from a small deflector to a larger one.
- Comfo-bite™ mouthpiece
- The flexible nylon hose offers greater cold water performance than the traditional rubber hose.
