DESCRIPTION APEKS MTX-R DIN
The first in its category, the first stage overmolded end cap and ambient diaphragm prevent ice buildup that could cause free flow in extreme circumstances. The forged first stage body offers maximum thermal performance. The ribbed diaphragm clamp of the 1st stage ensures better heat exchange in cold water conditions. Angled HP ports allow optimal HP hose routing and transmitter adjustment. The turret's parallel ports allow better hose orientation. Excellent protection against impact damage in both the 1st and 2nd stage. Easy-to-use second stage with no dive adjustment controls and reduced risk of free flow. Doubly swiveling hose for greater freedom of movement and comfort. The patented heat exchanger surrounds the valve mechanism, dissipating the cold caused by gas expansion while drawing heat from the ambient water. Developed in accordance with the extreme cold water test of the United States Navy Experimental Diving Unit. Tested for Octopus use down to 60 meters in cold water.
FEATURES
The APEKS MTX-R delivers excellent performance in cold water and has a greatly reduced risk of free flow. This has been achieved by improving several areas, including an innovative end cap and ambient diaphragm, a forged 1st stage body offering maximum thermal preference, a ribbed diaphragm clamp, and a redesigned and enlarged heat exchanger in the 2nd stage with metal incorporated inside. Redesigned and enlarged heat exchanger in the 2nd stage with metal incorporated into the front cover design.
MTX-R DIN FIRST STAGE
- Available in DIN configuration.
- Suitable for use in cold water (below 10°C / 50°F).
- Unique over-balanced diaphragm design: as the diver descends, the over-balancing feature allows the medium-pressure gas in the HP hose to increase at a faster rate than the ambient pressure.
- Maximum performance at depth.
- Innovative overmolded end cap and ambient diaphragm, a forged first stage body offering maximum thermal performance.
- The 5th medium-pressure port 3/8" UNF includes a plug when not in use.
- Forged first stage body with heat exchange fins for maximum thermal performance.
- Angled high-pressure ports for optimal HP hose routing and transmitter adjustment.
- Forged rotating turret with medium-pressure ports in a parallel direction for better hose orientation.
- Ribbed diaphragm clamp to improve heat exchange in cold water conditions.
- Doubly swiveling hose for greater freedom of movement and comfort.
- Tested for Octopus use - EN250A in cold water.
- Nitrox/Oxygen compatible - Up to 40% O² outside the EU (European Union); within the EU, anything exceeding 21% O² must use an M26 connection.
MTX-R SECOND STAGE
- Easy to use with no dive controls, pre-set cracking effort, or venturi control by an Apeks-approved qualified technician.
- High-performance pneumatically balanced seat valve, lever-operated.
- Large, easily controllable purge button for easy diver use.
- The front cover with overmolded elastomer bumpers incorporates a formed chrome-plated brass plate that improves the durability of the demand valve.
- Large protective elastomer bumpers on the side and top to protect the demand valve from impacts and scratches in the most vulnerable areas.
- Reversible second stage for left or right gas supply.
- Durable satin chrome finish.
- All gas-contact molded parts are manufactured with an active protection additive that kills MRSA, protects against E-Coli, bacteria and fungi, and is also highly effective against viruses, mold, yeast and algae.
- Large heat exchanger fitted to help reduce second stage freezing.
- Nitrox/Oxygen compatible.
