It will be hard to beat the new Cressi Evo, a limit-pushing design exercise that improves upon the already optimal all-around visibility of the Cressi Matrix while reducing weight and internal volume to parameters typical of much smaller masks (160 g and 115 cm³).
Notable is its skirt, which combines two types of silicone with unprecedented technical improvements. The inner lip of rigid silicone provides solidity and stability to the mask. The outer profiles of very, very soft silicone, reinforced with increased thickness in key areas—especially the sides (a critical zone when using highly flexible compositions) and the contact area with the frame—provide unprecedented comfort.
The outer lip of the skirt in contact with the face and the area covering the nose feature a tapering thickness that improves fit and maintains comfort during long hours of use. Also noteworthy are the buckles, fully pivoting in all directions and attached to the frame via a flexible, unbreakable elastomer. The strap tension acts directly on the frame, maintaining mask stability and bringing the lens as close as possible to the eyes.
The exceptionally reduced frame structure allows for a close approach to the lenses without any contact issues with the frame. Internal volume is therefore reduced to the absolute minimum and any view of the frame from the inside is eliminated. The lenses, tilted 15° and extended above the cheekbones ("Big Eyes" system), increase downward visibility by more than 30% compared to a traditional mask, while upward and lateral visibility are increased to the limit allowed by the frame thickness itself: Total vision -3% in upward visibility and total vision -5% in lateral visibility.
The structural rigidity of the central bridge has been particularly studied to prevent loss of lens plane alignment due to excessive strap tension, which could cause optical distortions.
Available with prescription lenses for myopia. Installation and removal are extremely simple with no tools required.
